She can shed the tears she wants but her strange companion seems to have less compassion for her than her harsh surroundings. However, there may be another side to him she must learn to understand without the aid of social norms. When they happen upon another survivor he is instantly included in their entourage and Ghost realizes she may have taken her rescuer for granted.
